It's been a week so far

I hate only posting negative things on the Internet, but it has just been one hell of a week so far.

I worked two four hour shifts at two different libraries back to back yesterday. No big deal, I like my job, but it is tiring, yes, very much so.

And because I had work I made the mistake of letting Mark take Mallory to the doctor, because she developed a bit of a cough on Thursday and she didn't seem to be getting any better.

So I call him about 3 o'clock (I worked until 5) and he just starts carrying on about how he's called every library in Parma and I'm not working there and that's what they said and where am I really. That was fun. And then I find out that Mal has pneumonia and that the doctor supposedly said that he would report us if she was ever this sick again and I'm such a bad parent. Please.

She was at the doctor's last week because she had a lady infection and a cold then. He looked at her. Nothing was said that would make me freak out if she wasn't better. Am I to blame that she got better for a couple of days and then got sick again?

So then I come home and it just seemed to go downhill from there. He's the overreactive overimaginative over-everything parent and the second I walked in the door he just started up with the bad parenting comments.

And on top of all of that, because he couldn't bother to wait for 30 minutes at the pharmacy for her prescriptions, I had to go out last night, after working 8 hours, and pick them up.

So then, things get even better, because literally seconds after I tell Marilyn to be careful while we are walking to the car (after me arguing with Mark about taking Mallory out for 30 minutes) she slipped on ice and fell and cut her face and nose on the ice. Which was rock solid and very slippery.

Fun fun.

So Mal and I ventured off to Drug Mart where we then had to get all of our Wic stuff because it was the last day of February yesterday. And then we jettisoned off to get some Chinese food and then we came home.

I don't get any time to myself in the evenings lately because I keep falling asleep with the kids. The plus side is that I'm getting a ton of sleep lately. I kind of wanted to open up the red wine I bought and taste it out, but I can save that for tonight after class.

It's been a day so far already. I was awakened multiple times by Mark getting dressed and shuffling about, whatever. But I think my favorite was when he marched upstairs and announced to a partially sleeping me that he was going to hit my fan and rip off my back fenders because I didn't pull far enough ahead for him to get out. What did he achieve by doing this? A frantic half-asleep me yelling while scrambling looking for my keys who found them just in time to run outside on the porch and see him

yes

SCRAPE by my vehicle, without tearing off the bumpers or even touching it.

End result, I'm awake and pissed off at 7:30 in the morning on a day when I don't have to work until this evening. Marilyn looks like she was in a dog-fight. Mallory was acting much more normal yesterday and I'm sure today will be back to her normal self (plus a nasty cough). The plus side, at least I can hurry up and review some project drafts before the kids wake up.

I just hope today is better than yesterday.

I think maybe doctors are required to threaten with that kind of stuff.
