I've been quite the Negative Nancy lately, and I think that is fair, because that seems to be the general run of events lately.
I will say though that things have started to look up? So I thought until now I'm super sick and I had one of those days in which my hooved feet and horns popped out. But such is the experience of being deathly ill and then dealing with whiny children who don't listen and then having to clean (oh the cleaning...). So I can honestly say that it has been a day.
But my house is coming together. It really is. Everyone who comes in tells me how nice it smells, which is always nice but I have learned the magic of candles. I HEART candles!
House drama is always ongoing. The big thing over the past few days has been the drain. I swear I have had more drain issues over the past month with the old house and this new house than ever before. I will be a freaking plumbing expert by the time this is all said and done. Reportedly a man will come over tomorrow afternoon to run a snake. I've already been working some magic with the Drano products. I just want to run the dishwasher without overflowing the sink and getting everything (including the floor) soaked. *sigh* Always something.
The girls are doing quite well. Marilyn has been on a Jesus kick lately which I think is delightful. We've been back to church and they really like going. There may be hope for us yet.
I'm starting to feel more up, things are looking up, my spirits are up and all is going better. Well.
I'm even thinking I might cook for and host Thanksgiving this year. Yeah. That's something for sure. I want to show off my nicely decorated and delicious smelling house but I also don't feel like doing the holiday hop this year. I think it will be too much for me to do by myself. Truly.
I'm kind of excited for Halloween. We might go trick or treating in the new neighborhood or we might go somewhere else, but I have fanagled an out-of-class class with my Monday night students. They are more than happy to have an out-of-class class as well since most of them have children or want to pass out candy. I don't know why they have classes on unofficial but official holidays.
I wonder if the newest season of Weeds or the Office is on Hulu? I will be pondering.
Anyhow, all is well. I have to negotiate silly things with Mallory and Marilyn isn't fond of listening or following my directions, but they are really adjusting quite well and thriving. Marilyn moved up into the 4-5 year old preschool class and I think it's really made a difference. Lol. She's walking her robot cat right now that she yanked from my dad's house tonight.
I think I'll be back to regular updates again soon. I still have to hook up the main PC to configure my new modem/router but I do technically have my own internet connection. I also got the password for a neighbor's connection which has been more than sufficient for the past week. Heh heh heh. If only I had the password prior to ordering my Internet service. But oh well, I will need all my access once I get the Wii and my Netflix going again. Atleast for the girls.
So soon, and this was one of my highlights for today (yes, there were more than a few today, which are always wonderful). My mini pumpkins are beginning to orange!!! I will also add that I've had some truly engaging phone conversations as of late as well that have served to brighten my mood. And text conversations. And e-mail conversations. I've been communicating with a bunch of people who are just awesome. Thank you thank you.
