Lots of new things
today I'm feeling quite frenetic all of a sudden, I have a lot of nervous excited energy to burn off.
Why? nothing big. I'm at work and they moved our main tutoring room and I went into the new room today and the layout was absolutely atrocious. So, with the quick and immediately garnered support from my superior and two other tutors, we quickly rearranged the room. I then sought out a table and stole it from another classroom to use, and then I rewired the network wires that had already been plugged in.
No worries, I didn't leave anything unplugged that wasn't already unplugged. Which I explained to the flustered IT department guy when I informed him quickly of what had been done.
You see, I had been elected by the small group as I am the one who is most often apparently in charge.
It felt good. It was exhilarating.
I led by example, and showed how things can be quickly and efficiently done and also how to smooth over the process by never being the person to blame.
They are doing a lot of things without true thought or consultation and whatever, but I can't sit in a dysfunctionally organized room to work for hours upon hours and everyone is stopping in to see the new stuff and says how great but cozy it is.
I'm awesome.
